List of mains functions defined in RDS:

Fonctions
Description
AF

Alternate Frequency:
The alternative frequencies allow the radio receiver know the frequencies of nears transmitters and diffusing the same program. This function uses the group 0A

Clock time
Clock Time:
This function allows to transmit the exact hour, if the radio receiver has a clock, that this will be set at the hour automatically if this function is used. This function uses the group 4A
DI
Decoder Information :
This function allows to transmit data for the receiver (mono, stereo, compression). This function is transmitted in the groups: : 0A , 0B, and 15B
EON
Extended Other Network:
This function allows to transmit data of another radio. If this function is used and activated the receiver can commute temporarily to receive data on the road traffic for example and return automatically to the originated radio at he end diffusion of these data. This function uses the group 14A
EWS

Emergency Warning System:
This function allows to transmit emergency data. This function uses the group 9A

In House
In House:
This function allows the diffusers to transmit data for internal use. This function uses the groups 6A and 6B if they are not used by the function ODA.
M/S
Music/Speech:
This function allows to transmit to the receiver of the data on the type of current transmission (music, speech). This function is transmitted in the groups : 0A , 0B, and 15B
ODA
Open Data Application:
This function allows the diffusers to define supplementary applications. This function uses the groups 3A, 3B, 4B, 7B, 8B, 9B,10B; 11A, 11B, 12A, 12B, 13B, as well as the following groups if they are not used by another function : 5A, 5B, 6A, 6B, 7A, 8A, 9A, 13A
PI
Program Identification:
This function allows to identify the radio diffusing the program. This functions use all the RDS groups.
PS
Program Service Name:
This function allows to transmit the name of the radio on 8 characters. This function uses the groups 0A and 0B.
PTY
Program TYpe:
This function allows to transmit the type of program (news, info, sport, jazz, rock, etc.). This function uses all the groups
RP
Radio Paging:
This function allows to transmit data of radio messaging. This function uses the groups 1A, 7A if it is not used by ODA function.
RT
Radio Text:
This function allows to transmit a character string. This function uses the groups 2A and 2B
SLC
Slow Labeling Code:
This function allows to transmit codes of configurations software. This function uses the groups 1A and 1B.
TA
Trafic Announcement:
This function allows to indicate to the receiver that an information about the road traffic is in the course of diffusion. If this function is activated, your autoradio will set the volume and display this function automatically as soon as a traffic information will be diffused. This function uses the groups 0A and 0B.
TDC
