This 2A group allows to transmit data of radiotext, with a maximum of 64 characters .

If this group is used, at least 3 groups 2A must be transmitted every 2 seconds.

 

Radio Text :

The last 5 data bits of block 2 are used for the radiotext data.

A/B Flag

 b3 b2 b1 b0

A change of state (0-> 1 or conversely) of the bit b4 A/B Flag, allows to clear the current display to begin a new line of text.

The bits b3, b2, b1 and b0 allow to select the transmitted characters by determining the address of the characters contained in segments:

Each line of text has to begin with the first character of address " 0000 ", up to the last segment used by the highest address sequentialy without character missing. Every message must be ended by the character " carriage return " 0D ( Hex) if the length of the message is lower than 64 characters.

A line feed " line feed " 0A ( Hex) can be used to indicate to the receiver a change of line.

The use of the group 2A is exclusive with the group 2B, the simultaneous use of these 2 groups is forbidden.

It is advised to transmit twice a message to avoid any problem of reception.

The address of the characters increments from the left to the right of the display.
