RDS quick presentation

The RDS (Radio Data System) allows to transmit numericals data for a FM radio.

In summary it allows your car radio to know the name of the program which you listen to (PS Name) and the frequencies of the most close emetteurs (AF) to switch automatically to other transmitter when you move.

Another very useful function in car is the announcement of road information (TA). This function allows to increase radio level when an information of this type is transmitted. This function is often associated to another function allowing to know the Traffic annoucement of other program (EON). If you select this mode, your car radio will automatically switch to other program, when carried traffic annoucement .

Some car radio allow to deisplay Program Type (PTY) for example : INFO, POP, ROCK, JAZZ, ...

Finally some car radio can automatically update clock (CT) if program you listen send this data type.
